This award recognizes districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement for providing music access and education to all students. FPS has received this award for 17 consecutive years and 23 times overall.

Cabinet Column - FPS Associate Superintendent Dr. Robert Grosz

The Calendar Committee will soon meet to develop the 2027-28 school calendar. The committee will be composed of elementary, middle, and high school teachers and principals; district office administrators; a school board member; parents; and one student from each high school. The committee’s charge is to develop a draft 2027-28 calendar for consideration by the Fargo Board of Education. The Calendar Committee is still in need of parent volunteers who are willing to serve on the Calendar Committee. Parents interested in serving are encouraged to contact Amy Nojang.

Valley Bus image

Valley Bus wants to help get lost items back to their rightful owners! The Valley Bus lost and found, located at the Valley Bus office at 2761 Leahy Avenue South, Fargo is open from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday through the end of the school year. The lost and found is only for items lost on the big yellow general education route buses. Individuals looking for items lost on special education buses, shuttle buses, activity buses, or motor coaches should call the Valley Bus main office line at 701.235.2912.

Register for Kindergarten before May 15!

If you still need to register for kindergarten, please do it before registration closes on May 15! Fargo Public Schools is excited to welcome the next class of new students this August and early registration is extremely important. It allows us to plan staffing, prepare classrooms, and ensure we are ready to provide the very best experience for our newest learners. registration will reopen in July.

2025-26 Staff Recognition award being held

Fargo Public Schools thanks all of its staff members for helping the District fulfill its mission of educating and empowering all students to succeed! To honor our employees, the District annually holds a staff recognition program. FPS staff and community members were invited to nominate a teacher, administrator, or support staff member who they feel is serving our students with excellence.

AFJROTC FPS Image

Congratulations to the Fargo Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps unit on scoring a 98.5 and earning an overall rating of "Exceeds Standards" during a Unit Assessment on March 31! This is the highest rating attainable and reflects the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Paul Dosch and Chief Master Sergeant James Gibson.

NDDPI Logo with Summer EBT

Summer EBT will be available to eligible families in ND this summer. This program provides additional help for families with children to buy nutritious food when school is not in session. The benefit is $120 per eligible school-aged child and must be used within 122 days of issuance. Most families will get these benefits automatically, but some will need to apply. Households already participating in SNAP,  FDPIR,  or TANF will be automatically enrolled in the Summer EBT  program. Households not automatically enrolled and may be eligible can apply for Summer EBT by filling out a simple application.

ECSE Logo

The Early Childhood Special Education program will have a new schedule in the 2026–27 school year. ECSE students will attend classes Monday through Thursday, with Fridays reserved for screenings, evaluations, and Individualized Education Program meetings. Student session times will remain the same:

  • Morning Session: 8–10:30 a.m.
  • Afternoon Session: 12:10–2:40 p.m.
